home at last
well we finally made it home. you would think since our regular run is up and down I5 it would be easy to get us home. but that would not be the swift way.
we talked to the lathrop office and told them the problems we were having getting south bound reloads. and asked about changing terminals. i think they really understood our problem. i also said we are only getting solo miles. about 3000 miles a week. i told them we can go anywhere and get these low miles, what is our incentive to stay here . if we dont start getting more miles soon we will have to make some decisions about our future because we cant afford to stay here. so i am somewhat hopeful that things might be better when we start driving again after our home time.
we asked to be home wed, thur, fri, and sat.
first they sent us a fedex that would leave us up in kent wed at 11pm. we told them that will not work because we will never get a load back to lebanon in time for the doctors appt i had scheduled thursday morning. they tried to tell us they would and we said, then send the reload with the fedex so we can see it. we told them we always end up sitting there waiting for8 or 10 hours for a load. they never did send us a back up load so we never accepted the fedex load.
theses are my angry eyes!!
then they send us a load that delivered wed morning in springfield. cool that would work so we went to pick it up. then that load was canceled. but they did send us another load. one that delivered in woodburn on wednesday evening. ok so we went to get that load. another driver was bringing it to us at the willows terminal. the load was suppose to be there at 6am. we waited and at 6:30 am ,sent a message asking where the load was. the reply message said he was 150 miles out. well that would make him arriving around 9:30am. so at 9:30 we sent another message and this time the message was the driver is out of hours and cant drive again until noon. and he was still 150 miles out. i was so mad i sent a message that said i hope that driver gets a service failure for not delivering it on time, and why was he allowed to accept a load he didnt have enough hours to complete. the load picked up in fresno. so at the time he picked it up he drove 1 hour then had to stop. ??? we told the customer service rep that we did not want to be charged with a late delivery because now the load will be 12 hours late. so they agreed we would not be charged for the late delivery.
while we we waiting they sent us a message that there was a fedex load sitting in the willows terminal going to kent. did we want to take it. what we already went thru this. and now it was getting to late to get a reload. we told that customer service rep the only way we could take that load is if we were sent a message allowing us to deadhead from seattle to home so i didnt miss appts i had. and he said he couldnt do that, so we told him we couldnt do that either. he seemed very frustrated with us. he tried to tell us their would be no problem getting a south bound load.we told him there shouldnt be but there always is a problem getting a south bound load. i said your not from around here are you, we asked him where he was and he said tennessee , we told him we routinely sit 12 hours for a south bound reload in kent washington. so we werent taking any chances this time.
we got home thrusday morning, just a few hours before my first appt. just time for a shower.
home time is great. as always too short.
love and miss you all
