rocky mountian high, hanging out in denver
when we were in laredo texas, for the second time, it was so hot. it was crazy hot. i was taking pictures of the outside temperature display and sending it to the kids whining about the heat, but soon as i would send it the temp would go up 5 degrees, i took a video of the temp to show how quickly it was raising.
we had to drop our trailer to go across the boarder into mexico. it was a load of lg flat screen tv's.
that is a very good business to get into. the entire street was filled with companys that only take your load across the boarder. and all of their yards were full of trailers waiting to be transported.
the road ways in texas are so different. some of our directions were n,I35, e - w35 ,e . i dont understand how you can go 2 directions on the same road. i guess im use to simple signs, like I5 s, you never get directions like go e on I5 s.
so now we are on our way to iowa and a much more agreeable temperature. from iowa we will pick up a load going to golden colorado, miller brewing. from colorado we are hoping to get a load home.
i am able to drive for longer periods now. im even driving my whole shift. i have been trying to figure 'work around' the law that allows us to work 14 hours and drive 11 hours inside of that 14. because 14 hours a day is too long. so i got it. when i start driving. i drive for my 11 hours. we have to record our time in 15 minute increments so when i stop to go potty, its in and out , no playing with the water, checking out the vending machines, etc. so my day is done 11 hours later. well actually its usually done 10 1/2 to 11 hours later. finding a place to stop right at your 11 hour mark is pretty hard.
will's day can usually run longer than mine. because most of the pick up and delivery's are on his shift, so that goes towards his working, not driving time of 14 hours. and getting fuel takes half an hour so that also is working not driving. after we drive 11 hours by law we can not drive again for 10 hours. i always get at least 13 hours off. will, on the other hand, gets, 11 off. no wonder he's so grumpy.
something in oklahoma
the battery on my camera is lasting for a shorter and shorter time. now it has to be recharged every night. maybe its a good excuse to buy a new one. it takes to long for it to focus and take the picture, most of the time the object is out of view. even though i am getting better at judging when to push the button, i still miss half of what i try to get a picture off.
love and miss you all.
